PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT SCREENINGS FOR MY AMAZING BRAIN: RICHARD’S WAR

In 2019, Studio 9 Films took My Amazing Brain: Richard’s War into UK Medical Schools to inform the next generation of clinicians and therapists of possible recovery from stroke, often far beyond current expectations, and to show the positive effects of long term therapy. The film was screened to over 75 students at Warwick Medical School and the Medical School, Queen’s University Belfast.

There was an overwhelmingly positive response from the students

AFTER VIEWING THE FILM STUDENTS SAY:

“Remember that family and friends know the patient best and take what they say seriously because it can really affect the outcome for the patient. “

“Be optimistic about patient recovery despite the severity of injury.”

“Don't write anyone off!”

“see the patient as more than a set of symptoms”
